The Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan Signs MOU with the National Palace Museum to Jointly Establish a New Hub for International Youth Culture and Mandarin Education

On September 2, 2025, the National Palace Museum (NPM) and the Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking the first-ever partnership between the NPM and a professional education foundation. The agreement aims to establish the museum as a new hub for international youth culture and Mandarin learning. The signing ceremony was witnessed by NPM Director Shyue-Chung Hwang, Director-General of the Department of International and Cross-strait Education of the Ministry of Education, Yu-Chuan Li, and FICHET Chairman Tsai-Yen Lee, with international students from Europe, the U.S., Russia, Vietnam, and the Czech Republic also in attendance.

The collaboration includes transforming NPM’s collections into Mandarin teaching resources, producing online courses, and launching creative cultural products to integrate language learning with cultural experiences. Director Hwang emphasized that the NPM, as Taiwan’s most iconic cultural institution, seeks to become the first gateway for international youth to engage with Taiwan. FICHET highlighted that this cross-sector model will further expand Taiwan’s international visibility through innovative programs combining education and cultural exchange. The Ministry of Education added that the partnership represents a new milestone in integrating cultural heritage with global education, reinforcing Taiwan’s position as a premier destination for Mandarin learning.
