The Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET) held the 2013 Taiwan International Student Union (TISU) Forum in National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung on April 12, 2013. Fourteen international student association cadres from different universities joined the forum. The participants believed that joining the forum will be beneficial for future cooperation of international student associations.
TISU was founded in May, 2011. The mission is to connect international students studying in Taiwan and create a platform to enable future cooperation among international student organizations across Taiwan. This year, TISU will hold a series of activities, including three forums and one annual meeting. The first forum was held on April 12, 2013, in National Sun Yat-sen University.
The event in the southern Taiwan this time has brought fourteen international student association (ISA) cadres from 6 universities, including National Chiayi University, National Cheng Kung University, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Sun Yat-sen University, I-Shou University, and National Pingtung University of Science and Technology.
Many participants appreciated the opportunity for joining the forum and interacting with other cadres from other associations at different universities. They shared experiences of operating the organizations, and more importantly, hoped to promote the cooperation of future events between organizations.
In the future, FICHET will continue to assist TISU in organizing the following forums and the annual activities, and collecting information on international student organizations in Taiwan.
