In the 2021 academic year, 14 students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, six students from the Department of Electrical Engineering, and seven students from the Department of Information Technology, a total of 27 bachelor students, were admitted. In addition to deepening international links in the process of cultivating quality human resources, this program also fosters the ability of students to collaborate with each other across disciplines in response to the ever-changing global issues of sustainable development.

For the Purdue Dual Degree Program students, a cross-faculty Board of Mentors system and an arrangement of weekly exclusive courses and common activity periods of the three departments has been established. Prof. Miaofen Yen explained that in addition to the faculty of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the School of Engineering, the students also have the opportunity to have dialogues and exchanges with instructors from the backgrounds of literature and history, science, planning and design, social science, biological science, management or medicine at NCKU.
