The 2019 NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo takes place May 26 to May 31, 2019, in Washington, D.C., of which the topic is: “Global Leadership, Learning and Change.” NAFSA is one of the most comprehensive international education events serving the diverse needs of the entire international education community. This year, the conference attracts more than 10,000 attendees from over 100 countries.
Assisted by the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) in the United States, a delegation from Taiwan, led by Dr. Huey-Jen Su, Chairperson of Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan(FICHET), and National Cheng Kung University, and consisted of 50 faculty and staff from Taiwan’s universities, comes to attend the conference this year. In addition to the meetings with foreign educators, members of the delegation and TECRO’s Education Division also participate in multiple face-to-face events, including the “Country Fair” and different professional sessions, to connect with current and new partners in higher education around the world.
Ambassador Stanley Kao of TECRO especially hosts the “Taiwan Night” reception at the famous Twin Oaks Estate on May 29 for Taiwan’s delegation and key leaders from the U.S. and global education community. Director Yuri Chih of TECRO’s Education Division also expressed the appreciation to the delegation for their hard work during the conference, which all delegation members think is a fruitful event; and the “Taiwan Night” became one of the highlights of their U. S. trip this time.
