Board of Directors & Supervisors

The 6th board of directors consists of 17 directors and 5 supervisors. The chairperson should be elected by the directors, and the managing supervisor by the supervisors. Each serves a term of three years.

The FICHET’s regulations stipulate that the political deputy minister in charge of international and cross-strait affairs, the head of the Department of Higher Education, the head of the Department of Technological and Vocational Education, and the head of the Department of International and Cross-strait Education (all from the Ministry of Education) are automatically on the board of the FICHET, and another five board members are appointed by the Ministry of Education with appropriateness as the guiding principle. The allocation of the other eight board’s seats is based on the types of the FICHET’s member institutions. More specific, they are selected from the presidents of the FICHET’s member institutions by the last board members according to the institutional types that include public comprehensive university, private comprehensive university, public technological and vocational university and college, and private technological and vocational university and college. Each type occupies two seats.

In regard to the supervisors, the one with a background in accounting or finance appointed by the Ministry of Education is automatically the supervisor of the FICHET. The allocation of the other four seats is based on the types of the FICHET’s member institutions as well. Specifically speaking, they are selected from the presidents of the FICHET’s member institutions by the last supervisors according to the institutional types that include public comprehensive university, private comprehensive university, public technological and vocational university and college, and private technological and vocational university and college. Each type occupies one seat.

All the elections and selections of the board of the FICHET comply with the foundation’s “Regulations concerning the Selections of the Board of Directors and Supervisors, and the Elections of the Chairperson and Managing Supervisor.”
