Delegates from the Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET) along with six universities of Taiwan attended the Korean Association of International Educators (KAIE) in Remada Plaza Jeju Hotel, Jeju City, Republic of Korea from January 23 to 25, 2013. The conference theme this year is “To Make Better Understanding and Ensure Internal Stability of International Education.” The participating institutions include 74 Korean universities and delegates from America, Japan, Australia and Mainland China. The conference not only provides a platform for participants to learn from Korean universities on their ways of organizing different trainings for international affairs staff but also gives a good opportunity to exchange ideas, establish substantial collaboration and bond the partnerships.
The participating universities from Taiwan include Feng Chia University, Tamkang University, Ming Chuan University, Kun Shan University, Soochow University and Mingdao University. Professor Lily H.M. Chen, CEO of FICHET, has given a presentation titled “International Collaboration Strategy of Higher Education in Taiwan-Focusing on Strategy of Universities and Government” to introduce various scholarships provided by Taiwan’s government, the strategy on collaboration establishment, the research power of Taiwan and the collaboration strategy with Korean universities.
