The “2019 Taiwan-Europe Higher Education Partnership Networking” was held on October 26th at the World Trade Center III, jointly organized by FICHET, European Education Fair Taiwan (EEFT), DAAD, Campus France and British Council. The event brought together 130 participants from 82 higher education institutions.
Professor Mei-fen Chen, CEO of FICHET, stated in her opening speech that Taiwan and Europe have a long-standing friendship across all sectors. Since 1966, more than 3,629 academic agreements have been signed between the 131 universities in Taiwan and close to 1,322 universities in Europe. Today, nearly 7,000 European students are studying in Taiwan, accounting for 5% of our total international students.
The European Education Fair Taiwan (EEFT) was launched in 2002. Beginning this year, FICHET is creating a platform to encourage bilateral university interaction and collaboration in the hope of deepening their social and cultural understanding of Taiwan and also creating opportunities to build new relationships and stimulate ideas.
