本次會議指導單位為中華民國教育部，主辦單位為財團法人高等教育國際合作基金會及紐西蘭大學協會(Universities New Zealand)，合辦單位為國立中山大學。本會議自2012年首次舉辦，迄今已為第三屆會議，臺、紐雙方共計約有70人(臺方63人，紐方7人)，48校(臺方45校，紐方3校)參與。在紐西蘭大學協會的統籌下，由該協會會長暨奧塔哥大學校長Harlene Hayne率領三所著名的公立大學與會，包含：奧塔哥大學（University of Otago）、梅西大學（Massey University）、奧克蘭大學（University of Auckland）。此次會議另有實踐大學及梅西大學於會中簽訂學術交流備忘錄。
會議開幕式邀請到教育部林政務次長思伶、紐西蘭商工辦事處代表Si’alei Van Toor、財團法人高等教育國際合作基金會蘇董事長慧貞、國立中山大學楊校長弘敦。會中由國立臺灣科技大學恒副校長勇智及紐西蘭大學協會執行長Chris Whelan分別介紹臺、紐雙方高等教育國際化推展情況。恒副校長在簡報中，首先介紹了臺灣高等教育在世界大學排名中，共有3所學校名列世界兩百大學，有12所學校名列世界五百大學，亦分享了臺灣政府招收國際學生的策略，並介紹了多種臺灣政府提供給外國學生來臺就讀的獎學金。紐西蘭大學協會執行長在簡報中，提及紐西蘭有八所公立大學，並均列入世界排名，國際學生比率為11%，紐西蘭境內第三大被廣泛使用的語言為中文，大約50%大學收入來自政府補助款。
會議子題包含：(一) 產學合作、(二) 共同研究─原住民研究、農業、高科技與海洋資源永續發展、(三) 增進臺、紐學生移動力。場次一由龍華科技大學葛校長自祥擔任主持人，講者則由國立成功大學陳副校長東陽及梅西大學校長Hon. Steve Maharey擔任。場次二由梅西大學國際關係處處長Michael O’Shaughnessy擔任主持人，講者則由國立臺東大學劉校長金源及奧克蘭大學研究學院院長Caroline Daley擔任。場次三由淡江大學張校長家宜主持人，講者則由國立臺灣大學國際事務處副國際長傅友祥及奧塔哥大學校長Harlene Hayne擔任。
The 2015 Taiwan-New Zealand President/Vice Chancellor Forum was held in National Sun Yat-sen University on October 28. The first forum was held in 2012 and since then, it has been alternating biennially between Taiwan and New Zealand. The participants included presidents, vice presidents and deans of international affairs from both countries.
The main advisor of the forum is the Ministry of Education, Taiwan. Forum organizers include FICHET, Universities New Zealand and National Sun Yat-sen University. The forum brought together 70 participants from 48 universities from both sides. The forum opened with the welcoming remarks from Deputy Minister Lucia Lin, Ministry of Education, Si’alei Van Toor, Director, New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office, Taipei, Chairperson Huey-Jen Su from FICHET, and President Yang Hung-Duen from National Sun Yat-sen University. There are currently 21 universities of Taiwan collaborating with New Zealand universities in the forms of internships, academic exchanges, education and academic research, joint research and other forms. According to the statistics from the Ministry of Education, Taiwan published in 2014/2015, the student number from New Zealand is 88 with 34 degree students and 54 non-degree students. Among those non-degree students, the number of exchange students is 4, the number of short-term study students is 8 and the number of Mandarin learning students is 42. The major fields of study for degree students from New Zealand are (1) Engineering, (2) Humanities and (3) Business and Management. The discussion topics of the forum include: (1) Industry-Academia Collaboration, (2) Research Collaboration, especially in Indigenous Research, Agriculture, Advanced Technologies, and Sustainable Development of Ocean Resources , (3) Enhancing Student Mobility between Taiwan and New Zealand. In addition, both Taiwan and New Zealand gave an introduction on its education systems respectively. In the forum, Shih Chien University and Massey University signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which will bring out more outstanding collaboration programs between the two universities in the future.
The delegations from New Zealand also visited National Taiwan University and Brogent Technologies Inc. during their visit in Taiwan. They were deeply impressed by the research and high-tech capability that Taiwan possessed.
