Dear friend of Tunghai University:
I am writing to you in my capacity as Fulbright Senior Scholar at Tunghai International College, Taiwan. The International College is an English-immersion, four-year degree-granting program at Tunghai University, one of the best-known private universities in Taiwan.
On behalf of the International College, I invite you to distribute to your students the attached announcement. It describes Tunghai International College’s second “mini-mester” (summer school), a six-week program commencing May 9 and ending June 17. We have expanded our course offerings this year to four English-immersion courses, as well as our Chinese courses (at all levels of Chinese fluency, including a course for beginners) taught at our Mandarin Training Center. Students can earn 2 hours of credit for each English course, and 3 hours for Chinese.
The cost is US $2,000 (which includes en suite, private housing and all administrative fees) plus $200 per credit hour. Students may take as few as 2 credits and as many as 11, and will receive an official transcript upon completion of the program. This is a very reasonable cost for a summer school experience that international students raved about after last year’s mini-mester! All classes are with Taiwanese, Chinese, Southeast Asian, and other international students, taught by native or near-native speakers of English, on the beautiful tree-lined Tunghai campus. Come to Taiwan!
In addition, as a Tunghai friend or partner, you should know that the International College will double in size in Fall 2016, with the addition of a new program in Sustainability Science and Engineering, a multi-disciplinary program focusing on all aspects of green energy, from science to public policy (comparable to “Environmental Studies” in American universities). Again, all coursework is in English, and rests on a Liberal Arts foundation, with additional courses in history, arts, political science, and business culture – all taught in English and available to our international partners.
If you have any questions about our mini-mester, our bachelor’s programs in International Business Administration and Sustainability Science and Engineering, or our study abroad program, please do not hesitate to email me, or to contact the International College directly, Ms. Ying-yi Ho, Senior Secretary, at 886-4-2359-0121 ext. 39000 (or [email protected]). Or see us on-line at http://ic.thu.edu.tw/web/news/news_detail.php?cid=8&id=128. Welcome!
