You are cordially invited to the 2013 Global Internship Conference, June 11-13, 2013 in Singapore.
The Global Internship Conference seeks to bring together all those parties involved in the growing field of academic work placement and experiential education. In June 2012, on the campus of the University of California, Berkeley, the conference debated wide-ranging issues such as best practices, diversity, paid and unpaid placements, and government policies. It was a lively and stimulating occasion.
The next conference will take place in Singapore at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Located on the banks of the Singapore river, the conference will revisit some of these most pressing topics of the internship world, as well as exploring current issues that attendees bring to the ever changing agenda.
Singapore is a city and country at the heart of modern business and culture. Colleagues from Asia and the Southern Hemisphere are bringing fresh and exciting new ideas to the world of internships. These ideas, mixed with the more established practices of North America and Europe, will create comparison, discussion and opportunity for all of us who work in this field.
The Global Internship Conference’s continued aims are to be truly global, topical, informative, enriching and enjoyable. In Berkeley, presenters and attendees came from over twenty different countries, and we are sure to exceed that figure in Singapore. This event will again send us away with a feeling of collegiality and community, and will see us putting into effect new ideas and concepts that will continue to benefit the students on behalf of whom we all strive.
