IISMA for Vocational Students

In recent years, academic exchanges and collaborations between countries have become increasingly frequent. To cultivate technically skilled individuals with international competitiveness, governments around the world have launched scholarship programs to encourage students to study abroad and expand their horizons while gaining cross-cultural experiences. The Indonesian Government has introduced IISMA for Vocational Students to encourage them to study abroad. The program has selected 26 countries and 110 universities as partner institutions, and outstanding students are selected to study at these universities. Ten Taiwanese universities, including National Formosa University, have been selected as partner institutions. National Formosa University is committed to providing students with an immersive experience of Taiwan's culture and unique teaching methods. In addition to arranging on-campus courses and project work, we have arranged cultural visits and local feature education, including the traditional Taiwanese puppetry. Huwei Town is known as Taiwanese puppetry, and the Yunlin County Government has set up the "Puppetry Museum", which was built during the Japanese occupation. The museum holds many precious puppetry props and souvenirs, and also regularly hosts various puppetry performances and activities, making it worth promoting and introducing to international exchange students. In addition to professional courses in belonging department, we also provide basic Mandarin courses for foreign students, enabling them to communicate in Mandarin while studying in Taiwan. The use of Mandarin is becoming increasingly important in today's international society, and mastering Mandarin can also enhance the competitiveness of students. Studying at National Formosa University not only provides international students with high-quality teaching resources and learning environments, but also allows them to experience the local culture and broaden their view. In order to provide more opportunities for cultural exchange and learning for overseas students, we also organize various activities, such as international cuisine sharing events held in the dormitory area, as well as a foreign student food festival during our anniversary celebration. These activities allow foreign students to interact and learn from each other, and enhance their relationships with one another. We provide kitchen facilities and utensils, allowing students to cook and share their hometown cuisine together, which is also a great opportunity for students to learn about each other's cultural backgrounds. Students can share their recipes and cooking techniques, while also trying the food prepared by other students, experiencing the exotic flavors and unique tastes, and promoting friendship and understanding among each other. Students can exchange and learn from each other in a relaxed and happy atmosphere, benefiting from each other's experiences. The implementation of this international mobility scholarship program is not only a great opportunity for Indonesian students, but also provides an opportunity for National Formosa University to show our academic strength and cultural characteristics.
