National Taiwan University, NTU would like to announce applications are now being accepted for the inaugural 2010 class. Summer+ (plus) Programs challenge students to do more with his/her summer abroad experience and is an opportunity not to be missed by any student who wishes to be a part of the global community. This program is chance to compliment academic education and research with a study abroad experience at Taiwan’s most prestigious university.
Summer+ Programs currently include two distinct summer programs, under the umbrella of Exploring Taiwan @ NTU and represents an answer to students seeking a collaborative and innovative summer credit abroad option. NTU will continue to deliver other exciting Summer+ Programs in the coming years, enhancing both the diversity and quality of the overall program.
Exploring Taiwan @ NTU courses are taught in English, by internationally renowned specialists in their field who are currently teaching at either NTU or abroad. The program will offer courses in Taiwanese Literature, Cinema, Theater and Musical Heritage as well as History, Prehistory, Aboriginal, Religious and Tea Culture of Taiwan.
Exploring Taiwan @ NTU provides a broad and interdisciplinary selection of courses on Taiwan's society and culture and promotes Taiwan-related scholarly activities.
Each participant in Exploring Taiwan @ NTU will choose a relevant field of study or research.
For Asian studies majors, Chinese Language students or cultural enthusiasts, Exploring Taiwan @ NTU is matched with the world renowned International Chinese Language Program (ICLP) to create the Summer Intensive Program for Chinese and Culture.
Researchers and technicians interested in gaining an Asian perspective will complement their Exploring Taiwan @ NTU studies with a short-term laboratory project creating what NTU has named, the Summer Program for Laboratory Research and Culture, which takes place at NTU’s leading laboratories.
The 2010 Semester starts on July 1st and applications are accepted from March 15th. The summer program includes a three-day tour, on-campus accommodation, amble time to interact with local students and enjoy all that Taipei’s summer has to offer.
